Create a high quality invoice now!
Make an Invoice NowA locksmith invoice is an electronic or paper document that officially requests payment from a client or company after a professional commercial, residential, or automotive locksmith has completed the tasks requested of them. Locksmithing services are charged on a per-service basis, although larger or non-typical jobs can include an hourly-based labor charge in addition to, or in replace of standard service pricing. Both standard services and hourly labor should be itemized on an invoice, as clarity and organization are essential for building client-locksmith relationships.

Becoming a Certified Locksmith
Depending on the state in which an individual would like to become a professional locksmith, the process can vary significantly. Generally, the process is apprenticeship (or on-the-job training) → certification → business license, although, as stated before, the process can be shorter or longer depending on the state and aspiring locksmith’s experience. After completing an apprenticeship and gaining a significant amount of experience, earning a certification is the next course of action. The standard in locksmithing certifications is the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA). They offer three (3) certification levels, which are:
- Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL)
- Certified Professional Locksmith (CPL)
- Certified Master Locksmith (CML)
For more information on the three levels and what it takes to earn each certification, check out the ALOA’s article on the topic here.
